The family of Pablo Osorio Sánchez, a 26-year-old civil engineer from Tlaxiaco, Oaxaca, has requested the intervention of President Claudia Sheinbaum to find him alive after he went missing on January 23 in the municipality of La Concordia, Sinaloa. His mother, Socorro Osorio, and his brother, Mauricio Osorio, detailed on Aristegui en Vivo that Pablo, of Mixtec indigenous origin, is a graduate of the Technological Institute of Tlaxiaco. "First, he called me in the morning, around six, and then he called his girlfriend who was waiting for a car, and from there on, I didn't hear anything else; she only heard them ask if they could work something out, then she heard a car and that was it," narrated Socorro Osorio. "He never stole, he hardly ever went to parties, he wasn't a troublemaker, he just dedicated himself to his work," she said. She confirmed that since the day of his disappearance, they have not received any official information from the authorities of Sinaloa or the state prosecutor's office, despite searches having been reported in the area. Mauricio Osorio indicated that they have no contact with the families of other missing persons, nor with the authorities responsible for the investigation, nor with the Canadian company his brother worked for. However, he reported that the case now has international accompaniment. "The UN is supporting us to locate my brother," he stated, detailing that the Committee on Enforced Disappearances issued an Urgent Action at the request of the Human Rights Center and Advisory to Indigenous Peoples A.C. Through the center, precautionary measures were also requested from the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, and it was requested that the Attorney General's Office take over the case to ensure an impartial and effective investigation. It was the girlfriend who first warned them that something was wrong with Pablo. Pablo Osorio Sánchez disappeared along with about ten other people who worked in the mining sector in the region. According to information in the case, the disappearance could be related to a suspected forced recruitment. Socorro Osorio made a direct call to the President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum, to intervene in the search. "I want you to help me find my son, through the president," she expressed. She added that Pablo was a fundamental support for his family: "He was the one who wanted to move the family forward." Mauricio Osorio, for his part, pointed out that his brother was the only professional in the family and described his character as calm and dedicated to his work. The last place he was seen was a bus stop on the Villa Fuente-Durango highway, in the municipality of La Concordia. From that moment on, he no longer answered calls or messages. "He always answered our messages, the calls, no matter the time," he added, and explained that the lack of response set off the alarm in the family, as they had daily communication. He did his professional residency at the company CICAR S.A. de C.V., based in Puebla, and was later sent to Sinaloa to work as a tunnel supervisor on a mining project linked to the Canadian company Vizsla Silver Corp. Since June 2025, he had been working on the highway section from kilometer 161 to 188 on the Durango highway, about 40 minutes from Mazatlán. According to his mother's testimony, the last communication with her son occurred on the morning of Friday, January 23.
